First there was cute cushion blushers, then alphabetised bb, cc and dd creams (the list goes on) came along, and now we’re obsessed with glass skin, snail slime and everything in between. It’s official – our beauty routines have had a K-Beauty revolution.
But what is K-Beauty?
Refreshingly, this isn’t yet another Kardashian franchise situation. Essentially a name to categorise the Korean influence upon our own skincare routines and the epic product imports from the country itself, K-Beauty is the secret to looking youthful AF.
Why has Korea spurred such a worldwide beauty phenomenon?
Because their beauty aesthetic is so different to ours – so focused on health, hydration and a preferred lack of pigment – as opposed to our sun-ravaged aspirations. Pristine, perfected and pale skin is a measure of beauty so the products that come out of Asia have high specific standards to enable those things, and our skin can only benefit.
It’s all about nourishing your skin so it looks amazing without make-up, rather than the more British approach of investing in products to cover it all up.
